i want to delete my old .zip files located in my StarDock backup file...not the most recently dated ones....ok to do or not?

Just my opinion...others will have others
If you are in the habit of using the beta builds, any zip older than the latest released (non-beta) build would probably be safe to Delete or if you want to be safe, burn a copy to a CD
